A lack of psychiatric services, geriatricians and health care providers who will accept Medicare and Medicaid, as well as a shortage of affordable housing for senior citizens, topped the list of concerns voiced by participants at the first Colorado Conversations on Aging meeting in the state held Thursday.
Series designed to bring local-level insights into plans for addressing increasing needs of the state’s growing aging population
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Colorado is preparing for a 68 percent increase in people age 65 or older, with the Strategic Action Planning Group on Aging.
The group wants to hear from our older community around the state to build on the state's current plan for seniors.

Karin Stewart, Program Manager for Jefferson County Human Services Aging and Adult Servicesand Project Coordinator for Jefferson County Aging Well, has been appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper, to be a member of the Strategic Action Planning Group on Aging (SAPGA).
