GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Colorado is preparing for a 68 percent increase in people age 65 or older, with the Strategic Action Planning Group on Aging.
The group wants to hear from our older community around the state to build on the state's current plan for seniors.
They stopped in Grand Junction yesterday, which was their first in a series of meetings. Local people say they are facing issues when it comes to things like affordable health insurance and work place options.
“What are you seeing in your community here? Talk to us what you see the challenges being. Are you seeing the younger people saving money, are you seeing or hearing from the older population saying they have inadequate resources” Karen Brown said about the topics and questions discussed.
There will be another meeting September 13th in Summit County and others across the state.
